Dr. Enikő Nagy

Dr. Nagy Enikő MártaDr. Enikő  Nagy DLA is an associate professor at The University of Szeged, Faculty of Music.

She studied viola at the Bartók Béla Conservatory of Music in Budapest with  István Vermes and the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest with György Konrád; graduating summa cum laude. While she was still studying she was invited to teach at the Bartók Béla Conservatory and later also taught at the Music Academy of Budapest.

Through several master courses, she came into contact with outstanding musicians including György Kurtág, Simon Standage, Zoltán Tóth (Lyon), Albert Simon, Ferenc Rados.  After the master course held by Sándor Végh in the Music Academy (1987), she was invited to join the world famous Camerata Academica Salzburg. Ms. Nagy is also a founding member of the Budapest Festival Orchestra with Iván Fischer).

From 1992 to 1997 her concert tours were extensive;  with the Danubius and later the Camerata Budapest String Quartets with Vilmos Oláh with a performance of Bartók’s six string quartets in Reims, France. Dr. Enikő Nagy has recorded on CD’s, and performed on both Radio and TV recordings (Decca, Bayerischer Rundfunk, Munich; Naxos, Hungaroton,, and others.)

Her interest in contemporary music has acquainted her with several composers of our time, premiering as soloist or ensemble member works by György Orbán, János Vajda, György Kurtág, Iván Madarász, András Mihály, Sándor Balassa, Emil Petrovics, Péter Tóth.

Dr. Enikő Nagy regularly plays in concerts as soloist and chamber musician at home and abroad.
